Clubs and Activities
At St. Bede School we offer a variety of clubs and activities for our students. Below you will see many of our offerings and we encourage your student and your family to get involved.
Altar Servers
Students from 4th grade through 8th grade serve at the weekly school masses on Friday mornings. In addition, they can be included as servers on Sunday masses as well.
Band
Individual lessons and band program are provided by Music Education Services. Individual lessons, starting in 3rd grade, occur during the school day with band practice after school hours. The Band sponsors two concerts each year, one at Christmas and one in the spring.
Chess Club
Develop your child's intellect through the royal game of chess! Each class will consist of a fun, interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both beginner and experienced players are welcome and will learn under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach. Club meets weekly.
Choir
Choir meets each Monday after school for practice. Students sing during the all school masses each Friday morning
Kid’s Cafe
Kids Cafe Cooking Club is an afterschool enrichment program designed for children who love to cook, bake and be creative in the kitchen. Children will not only have the opportunity to prepare and taste some of their favorite foods, they will get to try new recipes and explore their natural curiosity with food. We offer Kid Chef classes recommended for children 5-9 and Junior Chef classes for children 10 and up.
Steam Club
This program brings together elements of science, art and math in a hands-on, action-packed environment. Students will conduct experiments, play educational games, and unlock their creativity through building challenges and projects. No experience is necessary. The club meets every Wednesday after school.
Stretching Club
This club is a chance for students to improve their physical ability by improving flexibility. Under the guidance of Cross Country coaches, students will work on exercises that increase fitness and flexibility. The club meets once a week.
Student Council
To teach leadership skills, social responsibility and to encourage pride in their school, students participate in school government through the Student Council. Students in grades 5 – 8 elect the officers of the Student Council according to the guidelines and procedures of the organization. The principal and council moderator(s) approve all candidates and officers.
Young Rembrandts
This art club extends the students' love of art beyond the art class. Instruction by emphasizing specific art techniques used by famous artists. The club meets each Wednesday.
